Just Life

Well I thought I should write at least one post to get this blog started, even if there isn't really anything to report! It's been a long, long time since I wrote anything, so forgive me if I'm a bit rusty. I find it a lot harder these days to put a decent sentence together (I'm blaming sleep deprivation)  - it reminds me of going back to school after the summer holidays and feeling a bit clumsy holding a pen and trying to write!

There isn't really any news to share here just yet. Things are ticking away as normal, our days are filled with the business of routine - early mornings, lots of coffee, school runs, cooking, laundry, cooking some more, more coffee, bathtimes, bed times, and me eventually collapsing into bed at night when Colm gets up and heads into his night shift at work. Yup, Colm is still working the night shift - going on two years now. When he first started we said it would be a minimum of 6 months but things didn't pan out the way we hoped and he's had to slog on as a night owl for  longer than expected, but hopefully this year will be the end of it.

Eli is still in preschool at his wonderful special needs preschool here in Galway. He has come on in leaps and bounds since last Christmas, with speech especially progressing - we are still in the single words phase, but that in itself is just wonderful as he was completely non verbal up until the end of last year. He is the kindest soul who just loves people. Right now his favourite things to do are just run and roll around outside - he would be outside all day every day if he could - and to catch me by surprise and pretend to push me so I fall down, take him with me, and tickle him until he surrenders!

Little Quinn has also grown up so much. She's become such a big little girl (if that makes sense!). She is full of attitude and sass (no idea where she got that from haha) and is very independent. Having said that, she is just the softest soul...she loves to cuddle, kiss and snuggle, and loves going up to Eli to stroke his hair and arms and give him a kiss. Her favourite thing to do is go into the playroom and spend ages going through each and every thing...puzzles, dolls, cars, stackers, crayons, everything...and she has to show you each thing too!

Lots of love to you all for now,

The Cronins
